Another month has passed, and it’s time for another update! Instead of Retro Hanashi, this time it’s a bunch of new artwork. Here we go!
Inuyasha’s Sesshoumaru, Riko and You from Love Live!, and G’raha Tia from Final Fantasy XIV. The first three were made for friends, and the fourth is because I love G’raha!
Next, some Mario Kart sketches. Sometimes, you just need to get away from those outlines…!
And finally, some Tales of Destiny works because I just can’t stop. Plus, a tree for no good reason!
That’s it for the new works. On another note, I was thinking about doing a log section about how I choose to draw both digitally and traditionally. Could you tell which of the above I made using my beloved and heavily-used Wacom Cintiq, and which were made with a new Huion Kamvas I was gifted early this year? I’m trying to minimize the difference between the works I make with both devices via training, but I think you can still tell that I have to draw loosely with the Huion. In any case, for those who are interested, I’ll come back with a post describing the differences between working with an Intuos, a Cintiq, and a Huion Kamvas.
Perhaps I can offer some insight or give you something to consider if you’re an artist working traditionally who is having trouble going digital, or if you don’t know whether to use a tablet with a display or not (which greatly affects how much your tablet of choice might cost). I’ll come back to this topic soon. Meanwhile, I’ll continue on my training journey with the Huion, which I used to make You, G’raha, Shy Guy and Luigi.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you’ll enjoy what’s coming up!
